ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Jeremy Gilley MBE is the founder of Peace One Day, the global movement behind the United Nations International Day of Peace. A filmmaker by background, he led a global campaign that resulted in the UN unanimously adopting 21 September as an annual day of ceasefire and non-violence. Over more than two decades, Jeremy has worked with governments, NGOs, global organisations and high-profile ambassadors to promote peace on a global scale. His work has reached billions of people worldwide and contributed to measurable reductions in violence on Peace Day, demonstrating the real-world impact of collective action.

Sessions

Can AI Help Us Build a More Peaceful World?

What if technology could do more than scale products and profits? Jeremy Gilley MBE, founder of Peace One Day, has spent over 25 years proving that belief, persistence, and collective action can change global systems. His work led to the creation of the UN International Day of Peace and has helped deliver real-world outcomes, from ceasefires to life-saving vaccinations in some of the world’s most complex environments. At EVOLVE [26], Jeremy brings that same lens to AI and modern technology. This is a provocative, human-led session that asks how powerful tools like AI should be used, not just what they can do. From education and mental health to conflict, responsibility, and the next generation, Jeremy challenges us to think about the future we are actively building through the technology we choose to create and deploy. This is a moment to pause, reflect, and rethink how technology can be a force for peace, purpose, and positive change.
