How do you build a system that can make sense of complex data, assess risk and support better decisions?
OVERVIEW
In this practical workshop, INSHUR will take participants through the challenge of designing and building a simple AI-assisted risk engine.
Inspired by the kind of real-world problems faced in modern insurance technology, the session will explore how data, logic, software engineering and AI tools can be combined to create systems that help evaluate risk.
Participants will work individually or in small groups, using an LLM or AI tool of their choice to shape their approach, generate ideas, test logic and build out a solution.
INSHUR’s team will be on hand throughout to support, guide and challenge attendees as they work through the exercise.
No prior insurance experience is needed. The focus is on problem-solving, structured thinking, technical creativity and understanding how intelligent systems can be applied to real-world risk.
WHAT PARTICIPANTS WILL EXPLORE
How AI can support risk assessment and decision-making
How data, logic and software engineering come together in a risk engine
How to use an LLM or AI tool to shape an approach and generate ideas
How to structure, test and refine decision logic
How intelligent systems can be applied to real-world insurance technology challenges
How to think creatively and critically about AI-assisted problem-solving
WHO IT IS FOR
This workshop is for people interested in applying AI, data and engineering thinking to a practical challenge.
It is particularly suited to students with a background in mathematics, data, computer science or other technical subjects, as well as experienced data and software engineers who want to explore how AI can be used in a real-world product and risk environment.
EXPERIENCE LEVEL
This is a technical but accessible workshop.
Participants do not need prior insurance experience, but some confidence with data, logic, maths, coding or technical problem-solving will be useful.
The session is open to students, early-career learners and experienced practitioners.
PRACTICAL DETAILS
Attendees should bring a laptop.
Participants can use an LLM or AI tool of their choice during the session.
The workshop will be supported by members of the INSHUR team, who will help guide participants through the challenge.
